Um den Strom von Meereswindparks über lange Strecken zuverlässig an Land zu bringen, setzt der deutsch-niederländische Übertragungsnetzbetreiber TenneT auf verlustarme Hochspannungsgleichstromübertragung (HGÜ). Siemens realisiert insgesamt fünf der bisher neun beauftragten Offshore-Netzanbindungen in der Nordsee und leistet so einen Beitrag zu einer erfolgreichen Energiewende.

The German-Dutch transmission grid operator TenneT is using low-loss, high-voltage direct-current transmission (HVDC) technology to reliably transport the electricity from the wind farms over long distances onto land. Siemens is implementing five of the nine offshore grid connections ordered to date for the North Sea, thus contributing to a successful energy turnaround.
